Meet the Owner

Hello and welcome to New Dawn Counseling Services!

Julie K. Clay is an independently licensed drug and alcohol counselor (LICDC) in the state of Ohio who has extensive experience in treating adolescents and adults with substance-use disorders and dependence issues.

For the past eight years, Julie worked in a wide variety of counseling roles, serving most recently as a site manager, drug and alcohol counselor and MAT coordinator for the Family Resource Center of Northwest Ohio. She was the program director of the organization’s Driver Intervention Program. Additionally, she served as executive director for Shelby County Counseling Center, the community and court coordinator for Shelby County and as a domestic violence children’s counselor.

Julie holds a B.A. in pastoral care ministries from Oral Roberts University and an M.A. in clinical professional psychology from Roosevelt University. She completed a chemical dependency certificate from Sinclair Community College.

As a drug and alcohol counselor, Julie recognizes the significance of each new day and the choices it brings. Do I choose to stay the same as yesterday, or do I choose to do better? Yesterday cannot be changed. Actions cannot be undone. But you can make a choice to do something different. Julie is here for that purpose—to come alongside you and guide and uncover your unique path of recovery and, ultimately, your new dawn.

In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, exploring the great outdoors through camping and 4-wheeling, singing and working on art projects. She aspires to learn how to build furniture, run a 5K and enjoy more of the world with her family.

In every dawn there is the opportunity to begin again!

Our Vision

Each day we have a choice. Do I choose to stay the same or do I choose to do better than yesterday? Yesterday cannot be changed. You cannot undo an action. The only thing that you can do is to make a choice to do something different. New Dawn Counseling Services is here just for that purpose; to guide and uncover with the client their unique path of recovery.

Each path is different. Just like each drop of dew every morning is not the same as the next neither is the recovery journey from person to person. Let us help you do something different. You may not know what you need to do or how you are going to do it, but let New Dawn Counseling Services help. As you decide to begin the journey of recovery take just one step.
